Welcome the New Year with Color

I'm so excited for my post-Christmas shopping spree that I can't stop thinking of new fashion trends for the upcoming year. Three colors I'm in love with for 2012 are emerald green, cobalt blue and tangerine orange. There is no question that these are extremely bold colors; But by using them to accessorize, you can add a pop of color to any outfits.

Handbags
(great for everyday)

Earrings
(perfect for your LBD)

Nails
(accompany any look)
(OPI Texas Collection- "Dont mess with OPI")
OPI nail polish

Maybe you'll wake up with these accessories under your tree!

Just Add Ribbon

In my opinion a gift's presentation is just as important as what's inside. This is why I always take the time to tie some ribbon onto every present I give; (even if it's just a tin of cookies). Here are some alternatives to the boring, stick-on bow.

Pom-pom bow
(Appartmenttherapy)

Pyramid bow
(MarthaSewart)

Fabric flowers

Hope these ideas inspire your holiday gift wrapping!

Glittery and Bright

There's no better way of adding some holiday spirit than with a little sparkle and shine! I love the idea of homemade holiday decorations and the fact that glitter is involved makes these DIY ornaments that much better! I came across both of these methods on my Pinterest account and had to share them. These easy ornaments are sure to add some bling to your tree!

This first method is from Valley & Co. They suggest applying glitter to the outside of glass ornaments with Elmer's glue. Even though I love this dramatic look, it has the potential of getting a little messy.

Greenbean's Crafterole recommends another methods which involves using floor wax and glitter inside the ornament to cut out the glittery mess. This creates a more subdued effect if you're not a fan of the disco ball look.

Gifting Gift Cards

Gift cards make great gifts or stocking stuffers for the holidays, but I have always had a hard time coming up with unique ways on how to wrap them. I came across the website Denverbargains on my Pinterest account and I will never use an ordinary envelope again! Here are some creative ideas they suggested:

A Starbucks cup with tissue paper and ribbon

Sew or glue two paint chips together and slip the gift card inside

Make a snow globe out with water, glitter & holiday ornaments

Happy gifting!

The Iphone Switch

It seems like everyone is ditching their old phones and making the switch to the Apple Iphone. And with the Holidays right around the corner, I'm sure it is on the top of many Christmas Lists. An important addition to your new Iphone is a stylish case. A great website with unique (and cheap) cases is Society6; Here are some of my top picks:

For the glitter obsessed:
Sequin Spill by Grace Breyley

The animal lover:
In Groveland by Valentina

And the boho fashionista:
Okishiraham sky mandala by Peter Patrick Barreda

These cases make the perfect gift for your friends or family this holiday season!

Pretzel Kisses

These little treats are great gifts for friends and neighbors during the holidays. They are so easy to make and the perfect size to satisfy a chocolate craving without going overboard.

Preheat your oven to 170 F
Arrange pretzels on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. I used "butter snap" pretzels by Snyder's of Hanover
Place a Hersey's kiss or hug on top of the pretzel.
Put the pretzel kisses in the oven for 4-6 minutes to soften the chocolate.
Remove from the oven; Take an M&M and press it down on top on the Hersey's kiss.

And that's it!! So festive and only takes about 10 minutes!
