'Nana Bread

Today I made my mother's famous banana bread. This is one of my favorite recipes and a great alternative to throwing away brown bananas. When you're ready to serve, top with cream cheese for the perfect mid-day snack!

1 3/4 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 salt
1/3 cup shortening or butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten well
1 cup mashed, rip, bananas
1 cup chocolate chips/nuts (optional)

Start by creaming the shortening/butter with an electric mixer. Next beat in your sugar until fully incorporated.

Add your eggs, one at a time, and beat again. Add in bananas.

With your hands or a wooden spoon, mix in flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt -- Make sure not to beat flour; this will alter the consistency of your bread!
Bake at 350 for 60-70 minutes.

Enjoy!

State your Pride

Lilly Pulitzer recently held a contest for their Facebook fans to vote for the top 5 states to receive their very own state print. According to Lilly's Facebook page, 35,000 plus fans submitted their votes and the results are in!

The Facebook post informed fans that not only will these prints will appear on Lilly's signature Murfee scarves but that there are a total of 6 states!
I'm interested to see how the prints will turn out and if they will be the same/similar to the patches from the Lilly State of Mind Patch print shown below.

I'm so thrilled that all three of my states are State Print winners- SC, FL & VA. I see three new Murfee scarves in my near future!!
